COmmon Questions
How do you find suppliers?
We research manufacturers based on your specific product requirements rather than simply sending a list of search results. We compare suppliers based on product capabilities, pricing, MOQ, lead times, production capacity, business information, export experience, and other factors relevant to your order.
Our goal is to identify suppliers that are a genuine fit for your requirements—not just the cheapest quotation.
How do you verify that a factory is real?
We verify supplier business information using available official registration records and supplier documentation. In China, this can include checking the company’s business registration through the GSXT (National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System).
Depending on the sourcing service, we can also investigate whether the supplier is operating as a factory or trading company, review its manufacturing capabilities and export history, and arrange an on-site factory audit where appropriate.
Verification reduces risk, but it cannot guarantee future supplier performance. That’s why additional quality control and inspection services are available for orders where they are appropriate.
What if my product arrives defective?
We recommend addressing quality before the goods leave the factory whenever practical. For applicable orders, we can arrange a pre-shipment quality inspection so potential problems can be identified before the shipment is released.
If an issue is discovered after delivery, we’ll help communicate with the supplier and coordinate the next steps. However, Vonson Trade does not manufacture or warrant the products itself. Responsibility for product quality ultimately remains with the supplier under the agreed purchase terms.
For this reason, clear specifications, approved samples, appropriate inspections, and documented supplier agreements are important parts of the sourcing process.
Do you take commissions or kickbacks from suppliers?
No.
Vonson Trade does not accept undisclosed supplier commissions, kickbacks, rebates, or referral payments for recommending a supplier to a client.
Our sourcing fees are paid by the client and disclosed upfront.
We believe this creates a straightforward relationship: you pay us to represent your interests, and we work for you.
Who pays the supplier — you or me?
You pay the supplier directly.
Vonson Trade does not purchase the goods from the factory and resell them to you.
Once you select a supplier and approve the order, the commercial relationship remains between you and the supplier. You pay the supplier according to the agreed payment terms.
This gives you greater visibility into the actual supplier, product pricing, and transaction.
What are the current tariffs on Chinese goods entering the US and Canada?
Tariffs depend on several factors, including the product classification, HS/HTS code, country of origin, destination country, and applicable trade measures at the time of import.
There isn’t one single tariff rate that applies to all Chinese products.
For US imports, the applicable rate can include the standard tariff as well as additional measures that may apply to particular Chinese products. Canadian imports are subject to Canada’s own tariff classification and trade rules.
Because tariff rates and trade measures can change, we don’t rely on a generic percentage. For a sourcing project, we can help estimate landed costs and identify the relevant tariff considerations based on the product and destination.
Important: Tariff estimates are not a substitute for an official customs determination. Your customs broker or qualified customs professional should confirm the final duty and tax treatment before importing.
What's your minimum order size?
We don’t impose one universal minimum order value across every product category.
MOQ is primarily determined by the supplier, product type, customization, manufacturing process, and order requirements.
Some suppliers may accept relatively small orders, while customized or factory-direct production may require significantly larger quantities.
We’ll look for suppliers whose MOQ is appropriate for your project rather than assuming that every product requires a large production run.
What if I want to work with the supplier directly afterward?
That’s completely fine.
We don’t believe you should be locked into using us forever simply because we introduced you to a supplier.
If you decide to continue working directly with a supplier after our engagement, you can do so. Our goal is to help you establish a reliable sourcing relationship—not to permanently stand between you and the manufacturer.
For ongoing orders where you want continued support, we can also provide order management and sourcing services through our retainer or other agreed arrangements.
How long does the whole process take?
There isn’t one fixed timeline because every product and order is different.
A typical project may look like:
Initial consultation: Within 24 hours
Supplier research: Approximately 7–10 business days
Sample sourcing: Approximately 2–3 weeks
Production: Depends on the supplier and product
Inspection: Usually scheduled before shipment
Freight: Depends on shipping method and destination
A straightforward project can move relatively quickly, while custom products, tooling, certifications, large orders, or complex shipping requirements can take considerably longer.
We’ll give you a realistic timeline once we understand your product and requirements.
What products can you source?
Any physical product.
Our sourcing work covers a broad range of consumer, commercial, industrial, and specialized products.
This includes consumer electronics, home and kitchen products, apparel and textiles, beauty and personal care, furniture and décor, sports and outdoor products, toys and baby products, promotional goods, packaging, industrial and hardware products, building materials, auto parts, and many other categories.
If you have a product that isn’t listed on our website, ask us anyway. If it is a physical product that can be manufactured or sourced from China, we’ll assess whether we can help.
How do your fees work?
One sliding commission based on your order value: $100 flat under $2,000, then 10% down to 5% as orders grow. You pay the factory directly and we invoice our fee separately — so you always see exactly what the product costs and what we earn.
What if you can't find a suitable supplier?
Then you don’t pay. If we can’t present at least 3 qualified suppliers, your $100 deposit is refunded in full.
